For children in 3 rd grade through 12 th grade, they may choose to participate in the online school. They will have access to Ignitia, an online curriculum provided by Alpha Omega Publications, and can pay extra for teacher support or have his/her parent as the teacher. Plus, they will be able to participate in the weekly chapel services by tuning in online or if they live within driving distance, can participate in person. Those that live within driving distance may also participate in any after-school clubs and activities and all our field trips. For those who live other places, it is advised that parents plan field trips and extra activities to supplement the online learning experience, and to meet the required number of days of school that is set-forth by the law of your state.
For students in the online school, they must have parent supervision. They will also be responsible for their own equipment which will include a computer and all appropriate software, science project materials which may include things like a microscope, a balance, and other science materials, and other project materials. A list of materials for specific classes will be given at the beginning of the school year.
Online students can be from anywhere as long as the parent is fulfilling his/her state requirements for homeschooling. Online students must be registered as homeschool students in his/her state.
Option B: Online School (Part-time)
Parents may wish to take advantage of the online school for specific courses for their children. For instance, they may be homeschooling and teaching their children all their subjects but want someone who is more qualified teaching the math class. Or, maybe they are wanting a full-Gospel Bible curriculum that is based on the Message of the Cross, and would like for their child to participate in the courses provided by TCCA. If a parent does want to enroll their child in the Online School for just 1, 2, or 3 courses, the student can be enrolled as a part-time student. Student will receive the same support that all the online students receive.
